Summit Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Santee is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Music Director to lead and grow our music program. Position: Quarter-Time Music Director
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the minister to select music for Sunday services.
Direct and help grow the choir, which rehearses weekly and performs once or twice a month. Order music; provide scores and recordings of voice parts to choir.
Serve as and/or organize volunteers to cantor on non-choir Sundays.
Recruit and coordinate guest musicians for special services.
Qualifications:
Training or extensive experience in choir direction and music selection.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to engage and inspire both choir members and the congregation.
Connections to the local music community and familiarity with Unitarian Universalism are preferred but not required.
Compensation:
Salary of $25-$35 per hour, based on experience.
Professional development allowance including membership in the Association for Unitarian Universalist Music Ministries.
Secure grant funding for at least two years with plans for continuation.
Start Date: ASAP.
