
Choir Director
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus, Indiana, seeks a passionate and skilled Choir Director to lead and enhance our music ministries. This part-time role involves planning, conducting, and/or performing music for 18 Sunday Services and Christmas Eve between Labor Day and Memorial Day, as well as rehearsing and directing our volunteer choir, approximately 30 times each year. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical proficiency, creativity, and collaborative spirit, enriching our services with diverse musical styles—from classical and traditional to contemporary and global music—that align with Unitarian Universalist values of inclusivity and pluralism. Compensation: $200/Sunday Service
$150/Choir Rehearsal

Key Responsibilities:
Choir Direction (approx. 30 Choir Rehearsals and 18 Sunday Services between September-May):
• Select choir pieces that complement worship themes, in coordination with Music Director and Minister.
• Conduct choir rehearsals (day and time flexible; typically one weekday evening a week).
• Prepare the choir to perform at least two times every month during Sunday services.
• Piano skills not required, accompanist will be provided for rehearsals and performances.
Additional Conducting
• Support and lead other ensembles, such as the UUCCI Band, as needed.
