In 2018, AUUMM announced a new initiative called OVERDUE PROMISE, created to offer scholarships for UU musicians who are People of Color to attend their first AUUMM Conference.

“We believe it is our theological imperative to make good on our overdue promises to center the perspectives of People of Color in our institutions," said DeReau Farrar, member of the UUMN Board of Trustees.

The OVERDUE PROMISE scholarships will cover the cost of registration for the event, travel expenses, lodging at the conference hotel, and a daily per diem for meals. Eligible individuals must be attending their first UUMN conference and identify as a professional UU musician of color.

A scholarship application for the 2019 conference will be available in February.
